Two codependent millennial sisters try to "adult" in a world where every other person over 30 has their sh*t together.

Adulting opens for backing soon, starting with a first stage this audience can actually clear instead of a $100,000 wall. Follow the show and you'll get the launch announcement, the stage plan, and first crack at backing before anyone else.

In 2024, Adulting ran on Kickstarter for 44 days. 269 backers pledged $18,330. Women in Animation partnered on the campaign, and creators like Jorge Gutierrez backed it and shared it. But the goal was one all-or-nothing $100,000 wall. The campaign reached 18%, so every backer was charged nothing, and nothing got made.
269 people pledged $18,330 against a $100K all-or-nothing wall. It came up short, so nobody was charged and nothing was built.
Here, the first stage is sized for support like that, and it delivers a complete animatic of the pilot.
Adulthood, allegedly. Rent, group chats, and careers that were supposed to have happened by now, seen through two sisters who have each other and approximately nothing else figured out. World copy to be finalized by Steph
Adult animated comedy with a heart under the chaos. No boring stereotypes, just funny. Drawn from Steph's real life, which she tells in her daily comics. Steph's comps, and whether the pilot leads to a series

Steph Kowal does three jobs at once. She's the creator and writer of Adulting, a working composer for film and media, and a daily cartoonist whose comics reach an audience she built strip by strip, specifically to bring this show to life. When Adulting reaches its scoring stage, the person writing the music is the person who created the show.
Adulting was produced with Studio Smokescreen, the studio behind this platform, through a full professional campaign. It was budgeted by a line producer, backed by a Women in Animation partnership, and championed publicly by major animation creators. The show didn't fail. The wall did.
When Adulting opens, it won't ask for $100,000 behind one checkbox. It'll be a list. Each item pays for something real, has its own reachable goal, and unlocks the next. Here's the preview. Final figures land with the launch announcement.
